Not many people realize it but Hobbies can help your love life in many ways. The reason why I always highly encourage people to get back to their hobbies or try to get new hobbies is because the majority of the time people who end up struggling more being single or during the midst of a breakup are people who find themselves with the great amount of time they have on their hands once they are single. For this reason, it is important that you find something that ignites passion in you. Hobbies help you in the following ways:
Hobbies force you to take into account what is worth your time
You see when you don’t have much time you’re less likely to want to waste your time with people who aren’t a good fit because your time is valuable. There are things that you would get more enjoyment out of. You should feel like your partner is adding something of value to your life not taking. When I say they’re adding to it I don’t necessarily mean materialistically I mean in terms of actual important things such as care and understanding.
When you have a life that is already filled with a lot of things that you get enjoyment from and pleasure you have to mindset of looking for people to add to your life not instead of having a person becoming that source of passion and pleasure. Instead, I encourage people to look for those hobbies that spark pleasure within themselves in order to not look for someone to fill that void.
Hobbies are great to have for conversations
Hobbies benefit you that you become a much more interesting person to people. Knowing what you like is extremely important. One of the first questions on first dates is What are your hobbies? What do you like to do for fun? The last thing you want to say is “I don’t know”. Why? because remember nobody wants to be with someone who is boring and has no personality. The more you learn about a particular topic the more you will have to talk about.
Hobbies help your Mental Health
Hobbies can also help your mental health in that when you find hobbies that you are good at your confidence goes up. Hobbies such as exercise can help with your mental health because exercise releases endorphins and feel-good hormones.
